Home Learning Pack
Here is another resource to use for ideas if you want to supplement the class home learning packs.
As the school is to be closed for the foreseeable future, we have prepared a Learning Pack for you to use with your child at home. We would suggest that children thrive on some structure and routine in their day and we have created a daily plan for Literacy, Maths, Topic and Well-being, that you can build into your day. Having some structure to their day, will really help your child and should help you, too, if you need to spend time working from home. It is vitally important that your children stay active and keep learning. We will upload new work weekly and all documents will be accessible from either 3D or 3C's class page.
If you are not already, you can start your day with a live 30 minute Joe Wicks P.E lesson, broadcast live from his YouTube channel (linked below). The children who are attending school will be starting their day doing this, as will Miss Deighton and Mrs Crawford when they are home. Lets all do it together!
Please remember that you can email us by emailing
All emails will be forwarded to teachers.
We would LOVE to hear from you and find out all about their exciting home learning adventures!
Please let us know when sending photographs or videos of your child whether you would be happy for these to be uploaded to our class page as a celebration of their learning and so that the children can see what one another have been up to!
Photos and videos will be added below!
What have you been up to?
Thank you for all of your wonderful emails this week. I loved reading about all of the exciting things 3D have been up to. I can't believe how busy you've all been! I love that you are managing to do work but still be creative, active and have fun with your families. You make me so proud!
Welcome to 3D's class page!
Our teacher is Miss Deighton. Miss Elson works with us too.
Please enjoy scrolling through our class page.
Our first topic was Romans in Britain. We completed lots of exciting activities to help us learn about where the Romans lived, how they structured their societies, what they wore and many more interesting facts!
We were very hard at work and created our very own life-size Roman soldiers. We had to work well together as a team to ensure that everyone had a chance to design, draw, paint and then add texture to the centurions. We are very pleased with the results!
Our trip to Lincoln Castle
We have just returned back from a fantastic trip to Lincoln Castle were we travelled back in time and transformed into Romans for the day. We tried on real Roman armour, created battle formations, made shields and explored the castle grounds.
Please enjoy our photos below.
We had lots of fun in our Maths lesson today. We celebrated the end of our shape topic by creating 3D shapes out of marshmallows (or blue tac) and spaghetti! We talked about the different properties of our shapes and which base was the best for a strong structure.
xīn nián kuài lè! 新年快乐
We have had a lot of fun learning all about the different traditions celebrated during Chinese New Year. We combined two traiditons by making our very own Hong Baos with fortunes inside. These are lucky red envelopes which are given to family members at Chinese New Year to bring good luck for the year. They normally contain money!
Please enjoy the photos of us with our lucky envelopes.
Wonderful World Book Day
We have had the best day celebrating world book day! We started the day by making our own bookmarks to use in the books we are enjoying at the moment. We then enjoyed celebrating our costumes. We even had Miss Thieme from year 1 come in and read a story to us. We love listening to stories. Enjoy looking at our creative costumes!
A Special Haydn Mile Park Run!
In support of Sport Relief, we took part in Haydn's very first park run! We had to run two laps of the school as fast as we could, whilst following the park run signs made by 3C. We had so much fun and running together made it so much easier! We spoke about the importance of supporting charities that help children less fortunate than ourselves. Please enjoy our photos below.
Welcome to 2C's Home Page!
Our class adults are Mrs Crawford, Mr England and Miss Storer. Miss Storer is learning to be a teacher in our class. What a treat!
On the 8th November, 2C went on a walk to Blackwoods. This scout hut is just on Hucknall Road and a lovely resource to have so close to home. We did some bark rubbing, some hedgehog leaf collages, completed a mini-beast hunt and drank hot chocolate! Have a look at the masterpieces we made!
We have had a very busy Autumn half term. We have enjoyed some beautiful books together, participated in some role play and discovered an elephant in our school garden! Take a look at just a selection of our busy jobs.
In Maths, we've been busy embedding our number fluency, such as practising our halves and doubles, remembering our 2, 5 and 10 times tables as well as brushing up on our 3 times table! Some of us have also had a crack at column addition WITH carrying.
Welcome to 1R
This half term we have been learning all about SPACE!🌏🌙☄️
We have learn all about our Solar System, famous astronauts such as Niel Armstrong & Time Peake 👩🏼🚀 and even been on a trip to the National Space Centre in Leicester! Look below for photographs!
We have really enjoyed sharing all of the children's amazing homework projects! Everyone has worked so hard creating their own rockets, making pictures and models of the Solar System and even creating astronauts helmets!
On Friday 18th May, a day ahead of the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry 🤵🏼and Meghan Markle 👰🏽, KS1 had a Royal Wedding celebration!👑🎩
Everybody looked incredible dressed as Princes, Princesses, Queens and beautiful wedding guests!😍
We enjoyed a Royal Wedding picnic outside in the sunshine and had an amazing day!
