Merry Christmas!

In the lead up to Christmas 1914 there were several peace initiatives including the Christmas truce when German and British soldiers crossed trenches to exchange seasonal greetings and talk. Men from both sides ventured into no man’s land to mingle, exchange food and souvenirs  and play games of football. What a marvellous sight that must have been.  As is the Year 1 Christmas Truce tree below-well done Year 1.

On that heart warming note we would like to wish all our children, families, staff and Governors a very happy and peaceful Christmas.

Welcome to Haydn Primary School

Our aim is to:

  • provide all our pupils with a fully inclusive, structured and disciplined framework - one where success is celebrated and challenges are set and met and where children are encouraged to explore opportunities creatively.
  • continually improve standards of teaching and learning focusing upon literacy, numeracy, and scientific investigation and developing pupils' ability to use ICT tools effectively.
  • provide innovative, creative and challenging teaching.
  • provide a broad and balanced curriculum that provides variety and equal opportunity for all pupils, allowing individuals to develop progressively and at their own rate.
  • provide planned educational opportunities that teach pupils about responsible behaviour in order that they will mature into people who will make valuable contributions to our diverse and multicultural world and the environment we are to live in.
  • involve parents and community in the daily life of the school to achieve common goals through partnership.
  • offer all staff and others involved with school the opportunity to continually develop their own skills, knowledge and understanding in order to meet both the school and their own needs
