NEWSLETTER 19TH DECEMBER 2025 LAUNCHED!
A MESSAGE FROM MS PAULSON
I would like to wish you and your families a very Happy Christmas and a Peaceful New Year. Thank you for your lovely cards, messages and gifts. We all appreciate your generosity and support.
Thank you also to the PTA for organising our wonderful Christmas Fair this term and paying for the children’s Christmas presents. Our party day was enjoyed by all and the Year 5 children had the best time on their trip to the Nottingham Playhouse pantomime, ‘Sleeping Beauty’. The Year 6 children also had a fabulous party day out at the cinema seeing the famous Christmas film, ‘Home Alone’ followed by an afternoon on the ice at the Winter Wonderland. The F2 children have had a wonderful week, performing ‘Whoops-a-Daisy Angel’ for their families and school friends. I was struck not only by the children’s wonderful voices, but by the sheer pleasure that they took in singing and performing to an audience. It was a reminder that music and singing is so beneficial for our well-being! They also went on a visit to see a performance at the Lakeside Arts Theatre. The behaviour of all children across school as they were out and about was, as always, impeccable. We had a magical finish to the week with the Nursery Christmas Show. Again, it was a delight to see the enthusiasm and joy with which children performed. A big well done to our youngest children!
Also, a big thank you to Leo (5C) for his amazing piano performance in assembly on Thursday.
We hope everyone has a chance to recharge their batteries over the holiday and we look forward to a brand new spring term in 2026. See you all in January!

READING, READING, READING
Snuggling up for a bedtime story with your child is perhaps one of the best ways to encourage them to lose themselves in the magic of the season.
There are countless festive-filled books to choose from. Here are some of the very best reads that deliver an extra dose of Christmas magic.
‘How Many Sleeps’ by Rebecca Patterson is the story of a girl who just cannot wait until Christmas.
Throughout the book she counts, waits and sings a lot of songs to make Christmas come quicker. But as she goes along, the girl begins to realise that the fun might not only come on December 25th, but all around that time.
A lovely book that will allow you to talk to the children about December and what happens at different times, as well as discussing the long wait and difficulty sleeping that some children may have.
‘The Street Where Santa Lives’ by Harriet Howe and Julia Christians is the story of a girl who lives next door to Santa, or so she thinks.
The man who lives on her road looks like Father Christmas, and after some persuasion he begins to mend things for others, in his little workshop.
When Santa becomes ill, the street then make sure they repay the favours and a community built on kindness and thought is born.
There is so much to explore in this book and there will always be brilliant fun to be had around those people who look like Santa.
Merry Christmas from the Libraries – check out activities happening in libraries all the way until 23rd December.
