NEWSLETTER 13TH JUNE 2025HAS LAUNCHED!
A MESSAGE FROM MS PAULSON
Dear Families, we have had another productive week in school and the children have very much enjoyed their outside time when the sun has been shining!
Today our local councillor, Adele Williams, has been in to visit the Key Stage 2 children during assembly time. She talked to them about her role as local councillor in the community and took questions from the children. The school council were able to present a letter that they have written to her about keeping the school surroundings safe and reducing car pollution. They have lots of ideas about the different ways that we can do this, building on the work we have already done on promoting sustainable travel to school and preventing parking on the zigzag lines.
Over the last couple of weeks, the school council have held a Road Safety poster competition and the winning posters will be placed on the gates and fences around school. Look out for them!
Also look out for our new Parking Buddies that will be placed by the zigzag lines each morning and at the end of the day. We hope that we can all work together to make school a safe and healthy place for everyone. Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the sunshine!
‘MUMS FOR LUNGS’ MEETING
‘Mums for Lungs’ will be having their next meeting at school on Friday 20th June at 8.45am. If you would like to join the meeting, please just turn up on the day.
WARM WEATHER
As the weather is getting warmer, please send your child to school with a labelled water bottle (containing only water) and a sun hat. Please also send your child to school wearing sun cream on sunny days. Children are welcome to bring labelled sun cream to school to be reapplied. Whilst we are not allowed to help apply this, we will of course supervise application.

INTERNET SAFETY
A gentle reminder to keep having conversations with your children around internet safety. With more children than ever having access to smart phones, tablets and social media, it is critically important that you are aware of what they are accessing and they know how to handle the risks of being online. There are also some lovely resources made by Lego, they have a range of games, talking points and fact pages that are engaging and informative.

There are also lots of resources and training events hosted by Kidscape. The dates are about to be updated for the rest of this year but if you fill in an enquiry form, they will let you know when they are happening.

TURNER’S SYNDROME AWARENESS DAY – A MESSAGE FROM MARTHA (6G)
Hello! Saturday 21st June is Turner’s Syndrome awareness day and I am excited to share a powerpoint I made about this condition. This will happen during assembly on Friday 20th June.
Turner’s Syndrome (Turner’s or TS for short) is a chromosome disorder that affects roughly one in 2,000 girls. It means that we are missing one of our two X chromosomes from each cell in our body. This is important to me as not many people know very much about TS and the more people who know ,the better they can support girls and women with Turner’s including future children who might come to this school.
We are also doing a day on the 20th where your child can wear any purple clothes they own. This is because it’s the colour of the TSSS (Turner’s Syndrome Support Society). If they don’t own anything purple then please don’t go out and buy anything but if you can then that would be amazing! If your child doesn’t want to do this then of course that’s up to them. Thank you and I hope that everyone will benefit from learning about TS!
READING, READING, READING...
Romy (5H) says; "If you read in the morning it gets your brain up and ready to start learning."
Romy is reading 'Wonder' by R J Palacio at the moment. What are you reading?
