Thursday

Happy Thursday Everyone!

A Special Message from the Nursery Team

Before we begin our day we just wanted to let you know that there will be a whole school No-Screen Friday this week so we won't be uploading anything onto Friday's page. However, we also want to let you know that on Thursday the Nursery Team are going to drop off a special Chinese New Year treat to your house ready for the day. It will contain an activity you can do with your family! Hopefully you will get chance to make your decorations and dragon so that you are ready to celebrate, even if not on Friday but over the weekend.

Please note:

We will of course ensure that our delivery is socially-distanced. We will knock and leave your package on your doorstep.

Start your day with Mrs Wilkinson.

Happy Thursday Everyone

What are we learning today?

Today we are going to be carrying with our Chinese New Year theme. Can you remember the story of the animals' race from yesterday? Here is another retelling using shadow puppets!

CBeebies | Chinese New Year (Lunar New Year) | Zodiac Story

I loved that story using shadow puppets! It's given me an idea! I'm going to make my own retelling of the story using some toy animals! See you soon...
I'm back again! And here it is...

Ms Paulson retells The Chinese New Year Story with her toy animals!

Talking Together

Why don't you retell this story as I did? You could use your toys to help you - it doesn't matter if you don't have all of the different animals, you can get different toys to take the part! Or you could draw your own and make puppets on sticks or print and cut out the ones below and use those. You choose! You can tell the story in your own words or it cold be a joint effort with your family.

Mathematics

Can you remember what number we are learning about this week?

1,2,3,4,5

Can you give a high 5?

Have a go at this I Spy 5 activity.

Busy Fingers

Remember to choose from the different activities from yesterday to get ready for a Chinese New Year celebration! You can make a Chinese lantern, a rattle drum and a dragon!

Enjoy this poem for Chinese New Year.

To finish our week here's a special Chinese New Year song from Mrs Wilkinson. Can you guess where Miss Storey is?. Keep playing the song so that you can learn it too!

The Chinese Dragon Song

Have a lovely half-term break with your family. Don't forget to keep practising writing your name. We can't wait to see how you've been getting on! Most importantly, take good care of each other, be kind and helpful and have lots of fun!
