Happy Tuesday Everybody

Let's start the day with Mrs Wilkinson!

Happy Tuesday from Mrs Wilkinson

What are we learning today?

Making sound effects for We're Going on a Bear Hunt

We're Going on a Bear Hunt read by Ms Paulson

Talking Together

I'm thinking about the very last picture of the bear in the story where he is walking home back to his cave. What do you think about that picture? Talk to your grown-up about...

  • Who do you think the bear lives with?
  • What do you think he likes to eat?
  • How do you think he was feeling at the end of the story? Why do you think that?
  • What do you think might happen next?

Mathematics

Bear Beetle Drive Game
Play a game of Bear Beetle Drive. You will need a set of cut-out bear parts labelled from 1-6 for each player (see link below). If you don't have a printer you could draw and cut out your own. Take it in turns to roll a dice, say what the number is and collect the corresponding bear part. The first to complete their bear is the winner! You could make it more difficult by having to collect them in the correct order from 1 to 6!

Busy Fingers

Tiny Drawings

Very small things can be very interesting. Why don't we strengthen those fingers and those imaginations by creating some tiny pictures.

Here are some ideas:

  • Spread shaving foam or soapy suds on a table or tray, adding some food colouring and offer cotton buds to make patterns and marks in the foam. You could even practise writing your name!
  • Colour small pieces of card with bright crayons. Cover the bright colours with black crayon and then scratch through with a toothpick to reveal the colours.
  • Use cotton buds to create tiny paintings on small pieces of paper or card.
Here are some Bear Hunt themed pencil control activities to have a go at.

Busy Bodies

Let's do a bear boogie whilst we find out more about real bears!
